Join FixNation for “Whiskers in the Moonlight,” a charity music event featuring world-renowned guitar-player Carl Verheyen, country-music singer/songwriter Eileen Carey, and local sensation The Podunk Poets, on July 25th at The Autry in Griffith Park.

Actress Morgan Fairchild will host the event, with additional celebrities, artists, and sponsors coming on board for a night of music and community.

Event to include free parking, vegetarian/vegan food, cash bar, VIP gift bags, open gallery at the museum, photo opportunities, celebrity appearances and camaraderie among members of the animal welfare community including rescuers and volunteer trappers.

Carl VERHEYEN 46Carl Verheyen. In his 40-plus years of playing the instrument, Carl has created a wildly successful, multi-faceted career. He is a critically acclaimed musician, vocalist, songwriter, arranger, producer and educator with eleven CDs and two live DVDs released worldwide. Carl is commonly regarded as a guitar virtuoso capable of playing any style of music with remarkable mastery and conviction. He has been one of LA’s elite “first call” session players for the past 25 years, playing on hundreds of records, movie soundtracks and television shows. Verheyen has graced the pages of countless industry publications and been the subject of numerous articles chronicling his rise to the forefront of the modern day guitar scene. Carl has won numerous polls and musical honors in the US, Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

Eileen Carey. Eileen is one of California’s most popular Country singer-songwriters, can boast a multitude of awards and nominations over her four-album career. She has packed every venue she has played from the three Annual Summer Fests on Venice Beach for the Homeless, to the House of Blues Hollywood, and the honkytonks in Nashville. Recently nominated for Female Country Artist of the Year by New Music Weekly, Eileen’s #1 hit single “Bottle Your Crazy Up” and her almost viral music video of the same name, has now catapulted Eileen into the A-list of country music attractions.

The Podunk PoetsWEB

The Podunk Poets. The Poets are a rowdy, duet-fronted band with a unique sound inspired by honkytonk and classic country. They have been on the bill with the likes of Sturgill Simpson, Merle Haggard, and Tim McGraw at Stagecoach, Ink-N-Iron, and LA Pride Festivals and have performed around the southwest at prestigious venues such as Hotel Café, House of Blues, Grand Ole Echo, and Pappy & Harriet’s. Morgan Fairchild. Actress Morgan Fairchild became well known during the 1980s for her portrayal of various glamorous, temperamental temptresses in such prime time melodramas as Dallas (1979), Flamingo Road (1981-1982), and Falcon Crest (1985 to 1986). In the 1990s, Fairchild brought her famously sultry charm to a number of tongue-in-cheek comic performances, including an Emmy-nominated guest turn on Murphy Brown in 1989 and memorable appearances on such sitcoms as Roseanne (1992), Cybill (1995), and Friends (1998). Fairchild also starred in a series of much-talked-about commercials for Old Navy clothing, and had a cameo in the comedy Holy Man (1998), starring Eddie Murphy.

In the 1990s, Fairchild brought her famously sultry charm to a number of tongue-in-cheek comic performances, including an Emmy-nominated guest turn on ‘Murphy Brown’ in 1989 and memorable appearances on such sitcoms as ‘Roseanne’ (1992), ‘Cybill’ (1995), and ‘Friends’ (1998) in which she played Chandler Bing’s mother, Nora.
